Main Stacks Collection
The main stacks, on the lower level of Renfro Library, house the general undergraduate print book collection, developed and maintained to support the Mars Hill University curriculum and to reflect the University’s commitment to the Liberal Arts. In addition to the print collection, access to a large collection of e-books is provided through the Renfro Library catalog.
Reference Collection
The Reference Collection is located on the main level of Renfro Library and consists primarily of print and electronic materials selected to support the University’s academic program. These materials include atlases, bibliographies, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, guides, handbooks, indexes and manuals.
Print reference materials may not be taken from Renfro Library; electronic titles may be accessed through the Renfro Library catalog and through the Resources By Departments web pages.
Periodicals Collection
Renfro Library maintains a collection of current periodicals and newspapers, selected to support the University’s academic program and to provide general and recreational reading for library patrons. Renfro Library also provides access to a wide range of electronic periodicals, many with deep backfiles. Back issues of many periodicals and newspapers are maintained in bound, microfilm and microfiche formats. Check Journal Locator for complete subscription information.

- Bound Periodicals are kept in the lower level of Renfro Library, at the end of the Main Stacks.
Curriculum Library Collection
The Curriculum Collection, located on the lower level of Renfro Library, is a collection of children’s and young adult literature, fiction and non-fiction, appropriate for use in the K-12 classroom. The collection supports the Mars Hill University Teacher Education Program.
Music Score Collection
This collection, located on the lower level of Renfro Library, consists of printed music, selected and maintained to support the performance and research needs of the Department of Music students and faculty.
Fiction Collection
This collection, on the main level of Renfro Library, has both classic and contemporary fiction for study and leisure reading.
Media Collection
Renfro Library’s media collection is housed on the main level of Renfro Library, as well as in streaming music and film collections. The formats include vinyl LPs, CDs and DVDs. All titles can be identified through use of the Renfro Library catalog.
